Support And Promote Transparency And Openness
Community of Federal Way Public Schools’ stakeholders, especially parents, deserve
transparency. The School Director has an obligation, responsibility, and duty to provide
consistent and open office hours to and relay community voice to the administration on
issues of policy and performance. As your school board director, transparency will be a top priority.
Reinforce A Curriculum That Empowers The Student
To become an empowered, respectful, functioning and literate contributor to the community,
a curriculum empowering students is required. While ensuring balance between social-emotional support and development, I will make a top priority of the public school system to focus on students graduating with the requisite education to be knowledgeable and fluent in the skills required to succeed in college or trade school and in everyday life.
Measurable Performance Of FWPS
The community pays a price for the results of Federal Way Public Schools performance. All stakeholders in the
community contribute to the school system. Elders, non-parents, and businesses also pay the
fare in terms of taxes. Parents invest their trust in the expectation of quality returns
measured by the intellectual, personal, and civic growth in their children. As your School
Board Director, I will advocate for measurable improvement in school performance.
FEDERAL WAY STUDENTS DESERVE BETTER!
“Federal Way Public Schools must move out of the
bottom 10% of all schools in Washington State.
Students deserve an education in a safe, healthy
environment that prepares them for the world regardless
of the path they take after graduation. Sound policy
and fair administration, not politics and expediency,
are required in shaping FWPS’s mission to educate.”
– Quentin Morris

-
66.6% of students fail to meet state standard in Math
Spending Growth:
-
Per-student spending has increased by $5,800, or 56%, in six years
-

By focusing on academics rather than political/social issues, children will be prepared to succeed in life.
At over $16,000 per student/per year, parents and taxpayers deserve better academic education for our youth.
As your school board director, I will work to bring the focus of schools back to education and improve our school ratings.
